MegaSmud - 19.2.2011 8:22:43
@arfies But he likes the money :-) So, where is the problem?
arfies - 19.2.2011 8:21:15
@MegaSmud Supposedly it's because Richard doesn't like them.
MegaSmud - 31.1.2011 18:11:14
Why are all the Carpenters shows not available on DVD?
MegaSmud - 31.1.2011 18:07:18
Where did you get the TV show?

Is Karen your favorite vocalist? And why wouldn't she be!? Please go to this web site: the-top-tens.......search for "best female singer of all time" and "greatest singer of all time" and cast your vote! Bring karen to #1 where she belongs!

@sandradancefeva i think he means vocally. but i think her performances in this special were really good. i mean, listen to the way she sings that little bit of "a song for you" at the beginning of the video. shiver up the spine. and if you listen to the other parts of this special, you'll see that her vocals were gorgeous here (in this special)
sandradancefeva - 16.8.2010 1:54:45
@steveatl40 past here prime? she was barely 30 here.
steveatl40 - 8.7.2010 19:29:44
ARGH John Davidson. WHY?!!
Karen and Ella were both past their primes here but how cool that we have two of the best female vocalists of all time together.

Love the "tight harmonies" of Karen and Richard...
"Without A Song" - Acapella part is "perfect"...
popspop71 - 26.9.2009 17:01:46
I keep this piece on my favorites for just that reason snootzie78. No one can arrange and sing harmonies like the Carpenters. That was their real signature.
evoloosh1 - 10.8.2009 4:13:13
My thoughts exactly. As someone studying music right now, this is a master class. Love the Carpenters...this would have been perfect without John Davidson
snootzie78 - 16.7.2009 0:21:25
Those vocal harmonies always give me chills! Love it!
popspop71 - 19.6.2009 18:53:48
It stops and starts-or not- often depending on the time of day. Try hitting the mute ll and let the pink line (under the black button) buffere it for an inch or so. Then hit the forward arrow for uninterrupted listening.
popspop71 - 18.6.2009 2:59:50
Yes Virginia. Richard can sing.
But boy can he ever arrange!

Even suffering from the signs of anorexia, Karens once in a lifetime talent shines as brilliantly as ever here, thanks for posting.

Police accused of being fearful in tackling culprits over citys growing toll of racial assaults THE number of white victims of racist attacks in a Yorkshire city has risen 30 per cent in a year to more than 300 and police have been accused of being afraid to take on the culprits
vegas787 - 11.6.2009 10:18:00
Are any of these awesome shows on DVD?
06karencarpenterfan - 7.6.2009 19:41:43
why does it keep stopping and starting?
crpsaiyan - 17.5.2009 4:24:30
I know what you mean. She looks much older than 30 in this clip. I'm almost 32, and I don't look anything even close to that. It's just so sad. :(
goldenseal75 - 29.10.2008 21:44:37
I "bought" this program from a gentlemen who taped it off Channel 2 in LA. After 3/4 the way through the broadcast, the Channel 2 sports anchor (Ted ?) says that the LA Lakers had won the NBA title (over Philly?) and were paced by rookie Magic Johnson. So much for the NBA Finals being prime time in May of '80!
modspell - 28.10.2008 6:42:46
Oh jeez, it's really true-- I do look like Richard, even with the bad hair. I've been told that for 20 years. If only I had the talent.
earcandy2008 - 23.10.2008 21:13:47
I remember waiting for their TV specials. It was like Christmas for me...even better on most years!
babybear62 - 31.8.2008 16:11:27
mmm john davidson (ken) and paris hilton (barbie) the perfect pair. lol.
2legitbitch - 29.8.2008 5:35:06
that guy john davidson looks like a ken doll. ella kinda seems a little bit outta place but yet it's so perfect.
