I was meant to be born in the 40's, so I could enjoy the 50's.

Yeah it's one thing to say to love the culture of the olden days, but I honestly wouldn't want to live there knowing how less progressive things were with the progress of life. I do like some of my advanced technology and civil rights thank you. haha Plus I don't quite get this "innocence" vibe when people then obviously were wish-washy about morals. At least people now wouldn't lie to you if they were bad in character.

when was this composed!?
ColourtheBlueSky - 18.9.2011 0:36:30
This is jazz? Hmmm I didnt even now... this is cool. I looked it up, because I heard Arcade Fire's new album was using the jazz from this time for there inspiration

I've always wanted to be a pagan swordsman, like a Celt or something, fighting romans and stuff. That would be fun.

I wasn't trying to say only the fifties had anything wrong with them. I guess I should have noted that, sorry.
VideoRanger1990 - 1.1.2011 12:42:55
I would say each decade has its good and bad. The 1950s tends to get the most attention since so much of what is now common-place was either invented, first mass-produced, or first became popular during the decade.

I like old fashioned/50's iconography as much as the next guy, but I realize it wouldn't be that great of a time to live in. There was still much animosity towards non-whites (particularly African Americans) and gay people. And of course, there was the Soviet Union, the 50's Muslim extremist. The 50's weren't free of fear, as much as people would like to believe. Sorry if I'm being a douche, but it really gets to me when people get the wrong ideas about "the good old days".
