@TairyHesticles I wish I could have had a chance to see him perform live. I listen to his music regularly, have since I discovered it. Can't really put into words how screwed up that day, listening to all his tunes for the first time, feeling so close to the guy as a musician, then realizing he had passed away just recently. Really screwed with me, even though I didn't know him, hardly knew of him.. Just something about his message in his music...

NeverReality - 20.2.2012 11:48:16
@TairyHesticles I found Eyedea about two weeks after he passed. I followed Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, and some of Rhymesayers, but hadn't heard anything from Eyedea. I was listening to all his music, this CD especially, Shadows have Shadows and this track, and relating so much, thinking it was nuts how close I felt. Then I noticed all the RIP messages. Just blew my fucking mind to find out he had passed.. So fucking sad. Just seemed wrong.

this song is so deep, i feel like eyedea was trying to hide a message behind this, like a cry for help, strange, its almost like he KNEW he was gonna die...

@TairyHesticles I feel you brother I was like that with hip hop too. I was actually very against hip hop until I first heard Slug in like 7th grade. Ever since then my musical taste has slowly progressed and now 98% of what I listen to is indie hip hop. Thanks for posting all these videos man cuz every time I look up a song on youtube whether it's Dr. Octagon, POS, Slug, Doomtree, Eyedea or the plethora of other artists I listen to you seem to have the video for it. appreciate it man.

See, the thing is,all the greatest musicians died this way. Look at Jimi Hendrix,Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Micheal Larsen. We all ask ourselves, why do the great die young? It seems like everyone has their own mission in life. From the day they are born, to the day they die. Everyone has something they are sent here to do. These people's missions were to touch thousands, if not, millions of people with their music. And to leave an imprint in these people's hearts. And, you know what?

shabo234 - 21.11.2011 11:14:01
They have.

I will never forget the first time that I heard this song. I was 18, freshly out of high school, moved out of my parents' house and into a new city where I had to make new friends, work for food/rent, find my way at college, etc....I knew of Atmosphere and RSE, but I still hadn't dove that far into indie hip hop. I bought this album at Best Buy because I saw a video of Slug and Eyedea on the Wake Up Show. This song played on the way back home and Michael has been my fav artist since.

@nightmarex66 He had an accidental Prescription Drug Over-dose. Rememeber, Eyedea was someone you would call mentally disturbed. Anxiety and all that, but that doesn't change the fact that his music is some of the best that will ever be given to the audience. R.EYE.P

nightmarex66 - 11.11.2011 3:55:10
i just wana know, why did some1 this smart go into drugs? yea he didnt believe in an afterlife, but why not just stay with weed dawg? yea he didnt believe in an afterlife, but just like he didnt go and kill 200 people, why not just NOT do opiates? same concept, u wont be punished in the afterlife, but you get to enjoy your time here more and influence more people.

@juanalbizu03 His career took off is what happened. Unless you genuinely believe he's lyrically dominating in the Hip Hop game.. but then again you wouldn't be here would you? :P

@juanalbizu03 No i just cant believe you're really asking that. not to bash dude but his death was one of the most tragic things to happen to hiphop since soulja boy's career took off.
