It was released in Japan around 2001 on DVD, but sometimes you can find copies in ebay, which are mostly just copied from VHS to DVD. I still have my old copy I recorded when it re-aired in 1991 on canadian tv one saturday afternoon and it still plays fine, but i'm glad its here on youtube in really good quality

Same here. Funny thing about that is Richard had a big part in making this movie. I guess everything needs to be dramatized for tv and/or movies. One good thing that came from this movie was a larger appreciation and fan base for the Carpenters.

I remember watching this movie years ago, but i only have it on vhs, does anyone know if was released on dvd? it was a fantastic movie. Her voice is unreal, i even have my 14 year old son singing this song along with other carpenters songs! God bless you karen.

Thanks so much for commenting. Yep, it's true. Mike and I searched the entire building...all of the doors were locked. It wasn't creepy but just empty; the editing suites and the warehouse. This was 2am in the morning in basically the middle of nowhere in the burbs of Chicago. Also, Mike really never knew who the Carpenters were being much youger than I. Him confirming that the girl that peeked in looked like the girl on the cd, (Karen) was to amazing!

April, 1982 it was recorded. I had emailed Richard Carpenter in 2007 see if there might be any film footage but unfortunately not. He referred to this as a lead track. Karen came in, sang the song acapella and it was recorded. The final arrangements and music were not added until after her passing. That has always blown me away. She never her the final version. Pure perfection. I get good chills no matter how many times I listen to this. Now is pure Gold!
